Supporting the Sanshil Foundation

When we founded our subsidiary in India in June 2023 our intention was no different to that of the UK. We wanted to make a positive difference not just to our clients, but our colleagues and the wider community in which we live and work. Less than 2 years after starting we realised this last week in our support for the Sanshil Foundation in Gurgaon, the home of our India team.

Simply put the Sanshil Foundation is a school for children who would otherwise not have access to an education. That in itself is a challenging and worthy mission, yet as we discovered on our visit the school is even more than that.

Small Foundations, Big Impact

Started in 2008 by Shilpa Sonan from her front lawn, the school provides a safe environment for 400 children and young adults of all school ages to gain an education and learn skills they would not otherwise have access to. As I alluded to earlier on my visit I discovered it was much more and the school supports the students holistically with guidance from life coach & and a dedicated team, some of whom are ex-students themselves.

This not just ensures children are getting an education it also means they have also been able to follow their dreams outside of academia. This has resulted in several children, both young men and women, excelling and reaching extraordinary levels in the sports of golf & cricket. These young sports stars have benefited not only from the education but from the life coaching and sport psychology support provided by Dr Gurminder Rawal, the resident life coach.

During our visit one highlight amongst many was the number of students who showed us through their work. With presentations on computers, related systems, their components and the wider network systems that connect them. Just like we all would have been at school you could sense the nervous energy in the air but they all presented accurate information with confidence and clarity proudly displaying the intricate models they have made of all manner of systems and accessories!

How are Atomise supporting the Sanshil Foundation?

Atomise is supporting the Sanshil Foundation by funding new student uniforms and launching a mobile phone repair vocational training workshop for the local community. Through direct capital sponsorship, technical equipment donations, and ongoing operational support, we help provide young learners with essential educational tools and practical digital skills for future employment.

Atomise team members, Khushi, Vibhanshu & Himanshu also delivered a presentation on social media security and how to look after themselves online and avoid scams. Essential information in today’s world and knowledge which will help not just the students but potentially families and friends also.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which we have to change the world” – Nelson Mandela’s words have always resonated with me and they are written on the wall of the school which embodies this mission with incredible amounts of courage and conviction.

We are looking forward to continuing this to support this vital work with more activities and events that offer additional opportunities to students.
